Auction websites / cheap panel
We all want to pay as little as possible for a fire panel, but please be aware that if you are in the UK (I am) if you buy anything from an auction website make sure it is compatible with our 230v ac 50Hz mains supply.
I you do get a panel from America, apart from import duty and VAT you will have to pay, they use 120v ac 60 hz, so if you connect it to UK electricity it will not last long.
The detectors they have are 24v dc, the same as we use, so no problem there, and call points are no problem. (although their pull stations are just a fancy toggle switch)
